LCD Soundsystem have announced a 2025 residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton. The eight-night run kicks off on June 12 and lasts on through June 22, with the two Sunday shows taking place earlier in the evening. Openers have not yet been revealed. Before they fly overseas, LCD Soundsystem will head out on their previously announced U.S. spring tour, which starts next week. They hit up Phoenix, San Diego, Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, and Atlanta, and then travel to Europe for music festivals like Primavera Sound Barcelona and Paris’ We Love Green this summer.
This marks the second time that LCD Soundsystem have thrown a London residency, following their six-show run in 2022 at the same venue. It’s the only non-American city to get a special residency from the band; in addition to multi-night, sold-out stints in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Boston, LCD Soundsystem hosted a recurring residency in their hometown of New York City in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024—although the first one was cut short due to a COVID-19 surge.
After bandleader James Murphy published a lengthy “state of the union” in 2020 about their residencies and possible new music, LCD Soundsystem have confirmed they’re hard at work on a new album. The follow-up to 2017’s American Dream comes after the 2024 single “X-Ray Eyes” and the White Noise soundtrack contribution “New Body Rhumba” for Netflix’s film adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel.
