John Mulaney has announced a massive homecoming show at Chicago’s Wrigley Field set for July 11th, 2026, making him the first standup comedian to headline the historic venue.
Serving as an extension of Mulaney’s sprawling, ongoing tour, dubbed “John Mulaney: Mister Whatever,” the special Wrigley Field show is currently one of his only 2026 tour dates (he’ll also perform two nights at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado, on January 2nd and 3rd). Tickets for the show will first be available via presale; fans can sign-up and access tickets on the MLB’s official Cubs website.

After leading the stadium with “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” Mulaney officially announced the show during the 7th inning of the Cubs vs. Mets game on Tuesday, September 23rd. Speaking on the telecast of the upcoming Wrigley performance, Mulaney said, “This is a real 35,000-seat venue, and look — if Mark Grace could come out there every day and just deliver, ripping cigarettes, I can face down this crowd too. I’m so excited for it.” Watch the full video below.
