This 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 was brought to the US in 2020 and was the subject of a custom build performed by the FJ Company of Scotts Valley, California, utilizing their G43-S Signature package. Finished in Cement Grey over distressed red leather, the truck is powered by a 4.0L 1GR-FE V6 retrofitted with a Magnuson supercharger and linked to a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and locking front and rear differentials. It rides on 16″ Evo Corse Dakar wheels as well as King remote-reservoir shocks and is further equipped with power steering, anti-lock brakes, a Warn winch, LED lighting, Recaro front seats, Vintage Air climate control, front and rear cameras, inward-facing rear jump seats, and an Alpine head unit with smartphone connectivity. Acquired by the owner of the selling dealer in 2020, this modified FJ43 is offered in New York with an owner’s manual and a clean Florida title.
The truck is finished in Cement Grey (1H5) and was repainted as part of the aforementioned build. Details include a removable hardtop, a fold-down windshield, a later-model grille, a Warn winch, a jerrycan, a receiver hitch, LED lighting, Baja Designs flush-mounted front and rear lights, front and rear cameras, and a Signature-series fuel-filler cap, bumpers, mirrors, and emblems.
The 16″ Evo Corse Dakar wheels are wrapped in 285/75 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires, and a matching spare is stationed on the swing-out rear carrier. The truck rides on King shock absorbers with remote reservoirs and is further equipped with stability and traction control, power steering, and custom front coil suspension. Anti-lock braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cab houses Recaro Specialist front seats and inward-facing rear jump seats trimmed in distressed red leather that extends to the center console, door panels, front armrests, and emergency brake handle and shifter boots. Appointments include Vintage Air climate control, Baja Designs LED lighting, Signature-series pull knobs, switches, and pedals, JL Audio speakers, and an Alpine head unit with smartphone connectivity.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an FJ Company—branded instrument cluster, which includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts for fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 3,600 kilometers (~2,300 miles), which is said to represent the distance travelled since the build was completed. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
The 4.0L 1GR-FE V6 is equipped with a Magnuson supercharger and was installed as part of the build.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed H150F manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and electric locking front and rear differentials. The custom-fabricated stainless-steel exhaust system features a Borla ProXS muffler.
The FJ Company plaque affixed to the driver-side door jamb identifies this truck as being G43-S build #1094.
